About the Event

A Tradition Born

The SAC Cup is an annual Ryder Cup–style golf competition featuring two teams battling it out over a weekend of fierce but friendly competition at Solina Golf Club in West Columbia, South Carolina.

Inaugurated in September 2025, the event spans two days and four sessions — Scramble, Four-Ball, Shamble, and Singles — with each session awarding match-play points across 18-hole, front-9, and back-9 sub-matches. Every shot counts toward the overall team total.

Complete with a custom trophy, pin flag, team uniforms, and a scoring system built for drama, The SAC Cup is more than a tournament — it’s a tradition.

A Letter to the Competitors

Fellow competitors and friends,

What started as a wild idea tossed around over a few cold ones has become something truly special. The inaugural SAC Cup exceeded every expectation — the competition, the camaraderie, the memories we made at Solina Golf Club in September 2025 will stick with all of us for a lifetime.

From the opening scramble on Friday morning to the final singles putt on Saturday afternoon, every moment reminded us why we love this game. It wasn’t just about the golf. It was the team dinners, the trash talk, the walk-off putts, the high-fives, and the handshakes after hard-fought matches.

Congratulations to The Morning Woods on capturing the inaugural SAC Cup with a gutsy 38.5 to 36.5 victory. You earned it. And to the Chip-Endels — you won the singles session and nearly pulled off a comeback for the ages. The hunger for redemption only makes the next one sweeter.

The trophy now has its first engraving, the pin flag its first year, and this event its first chapter. I can’t wait to write the next one together — September 17–19, 2026, right back at Solina.

See you on the first tee.

The Format

Four sessions across two days, with 3 points up for grabs in each match. Formats may vary from year to year, but the intensity never changes.

🏃

Day One

Two team sessions — one morning, one afternoon — where pairings battle it out in match play across 18-hole, front-9, and back-9 sub-matches.

Day Two

The stakes rise with another morning team session followed by singles match play in the afternoon — the ultimate decider.

🏆

3 Points Per Match

Every match awards a point for the front 9, the back 9, and the overall 18. No shot is meaningless — every hole can swing the Cup.
